KMITL Wi-Fi SSID Renaming and Service Update

      KMITL Data Management Center (KDMC), would like to announce that the institute’s wireless network (Wi-Fi) SSIDs will be renamed to better support modern devices and to reduce confusion when connecting to Wi-Fi. Please find the new SSIDs and recommended usage below:
 
  • 1) KMITL-Legacy Authentication: 802.1X (Username/Password + KMITL Certificate) Frequency: 2.4 GHz Recommended for: Older devices that do not support 5 GHz or 6 GHz Note: Lower speed
  • 2) KMITL-HiSpeed (Recommended) Authentication: 802.1X (Username/Password + KMITL Certificate) Frequency: 5 GHz Recommended for: Devices that support 5 GHz Note: Faster than KMITL-Legacy

     

  • 3) KMITL-UltraSpeed (Recommended) Authentication: 802.1X (Username/Password + KMITL Certificate) Frequency: 6 GHz Recommended for: Newer devices that support 6 GHz (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23 or later) Note: Fastest option

     

  • 4) KMITL-WIFI Authentication: Web Portal (login via web page using KMITL Username/Password) Recommended for: Shared/non-personal devices and devices that do not support 802.1X

     

  • 5) KMITL-IoT Authentication: MAC Address (PSK + MAC address registration required) Recommended for: IoT devices (e.g., CCTV cameras)

     

  • 6) eduroam Authentication: 802.1X Description: Global Wi-Fi roaming service for students and staff from participating institutions Login format: Username/Password from your home institution (e.g., username@your-university.ac.th such as kdmc@kmitl.ac.th)
